July Adventures: Bear Lake Fun

We had the chance to go camping up at Bear Lake with my mom's family for a few days in July. We drove up Wednesday afternoon and just enjoyed the camp ground. We enjoyed trying out our camp stove that we got a few years ago but never had the chance to use until then. We liked it a lot. I like camping with our family because we really all just work together to have a good time. I love the chances it gives me to reconnect and get to know my family better. Thursday we packed up and went out to the lake. Colson was so funny. There is this huge body of water and he got so excited just to see and jump in a little puddle someone had dug. He eventually got into the big "puddle" and had a great time. We pulled the kids around on little inflatable rafts and helped build sand volcanoes. Colson liked to splash us with his bucket of water. Friday we basically hung out and tried to stay dry because it rained off and on all that day. Colson really enjoyed playing with all the cousins on the trip. He made new friends and just loved having people to run around and play with. One day we rented a big bike thing from the campground and Colson thought it was so cool to ride in it. Saturday started off rainy and windy but we made it back out to the beach in the afternoon. It was Colson's birthday so we celebrated again with cupcakes for everyone. Allie couldn't even wait until Saturday to give him his birthday present. I'm pretty sure she gave it to him on Wednesday after we got there. It was a baseball mitt and ball. She couldn't wait to play catch. Too bad he still has to work on that. Colson was spoiled once again on his birthday and had fun playing with his new things. My parents had made a drawer with toys for him in their trailer and he ran around the whole trip carrying toy dinosaurs and animals while growling at everyone. Non-stop. It was really funny. He thought it was great when we all pretended to get scared. We had a really good time on our trip. Bear Lake is always a fun place to go. And it is especially fun as a family. I like summer for all the trips we get to go on. We always have a great time and look forward to them.
